Oh my goodness, today only I got the mood to finally blog about this recipe after posting the pictures as draft for such a long time. lol Any way if you ask me what is my one of favourite egg dishes, I would probably say is steam egg with minced meat. I like the egg taste and the smoothness of the egg texture. And taste great together with minced meat.
Whenever I got a chance to order from mixed rice stall, I sometime will ask for this. hehe.
Serves one
Ingredients
Mince meat mixture
1 serving portion of minced meat
1 tsp of olive oil
1 carrot cut into small cudes you will only use some part of the carrot only
Marinade in gredients/seasoning for minced meat
1/4 tsp of light soya sauce
1/4 tsp of sesame oil
1/4 tsp of rice wine
Dash of pepper
1/2 of spring onions, finely chopped
Egg custard
1 eggs - use chopstick to stir the egg in gentle cutting action
about 1/4 cup of water
1/4 tsp of rice wine
1/2 tsp of light soya sauce
Method:
- Add the seasoning ingredients for the egg custard to the beaten egg.
- Stain the egg mixture through a fine sieve.
- Mix mince meat with the ingredients and seasoning for marinade. Mix well and leave it for 10 mins.( For me, I normally will leave it overnight before the day you want to cook this this dish as it will enhance the taste of the meat.)
- Heat olive oil and stir fry minced meat till they are no longer pink. Use spatula to break the minced meat into smaller bits and dish out.
- Arrange the minced meat into a shallow dish. Pour in the egg mixture over the minced meat gently.
- Add in carrot cudes. Make sure there is no bubbles on the egg mixture.
- Cover the dish with aluminium foil.
- Steam for 15 mins. To test if the egg mixture is cook, use a toothpick. If a little clear liquid comes out means it is cooked.
