Winter Melon Soup


Ingredients:
Pork Ribs(about 4 to 5 pcs)
1 big slice of Winter Melon - skined, seeds removed; cut into chucks (I bought it from NTUC)
1 Carrot - cut into quarters
10 red dates
2 Teaspoon of salt

Method:
  1. Boil a pot of water and add in pork rib.
  2. Take out the pork rib and drain off the water.
  3. Prepare a pot of water again and add in pork rib.
  4. Simmer about 1 hour in low and add in the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Simmer for another hour and serve hot.

Simple Wanton Mee Soup with Dumplings(水饺)- Serves 1


Ingredients:
4 stalks of cai xin(seperate the stem and leaves)
Chao Shao(cut into 1 cm thick slices)
Wanton Mee(1 small cup)
1 Ikan Bilis stock cudes

Dumplings:
3 Dumpling skin
6 teaspoons of Mince pork(mix with 3/4 tablespoon of soya sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil & dash of pepper)
* best to leave it overnite as it will taste even more better)
6 medium size prawns

Seasoning:
Pepper & 1 to 2 teaspoon sesame oil

Method:

Wrapping of dumplings:

  1. Put 2 prawns in the centre of the dumpling skin.
  2. Add 2 teaspoon of mince meat.
  3. Fold the dumpling into half and seal the corner with water.
Cooking of wanton mee
  1. Boil a pot of water till it boils. Add in the ikan bilis stock cudes.
  2. Add wanton mee and cai xin stems for about 5 mins.
  3. Add in Dumplings and cook till it floats on the surface of the soup.
  4. Add in cai xin leaves& chao shao and cook about 2 mins.
  5. Add in sesame oil and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Note: you may want garnish with some chopped spring onions.

Mee Tai mah is a very classic main ingredient.. U can stir fry or made into a soup one.. But by my way, I prefer another kinda of cooking method which is very healthy..

Dried Mee Tai Mah

Ingredients:
1 packet of Mee Tai Mah
6 to 7 pork meat balls
Xiao Bai Cai
Fish cakes(cut into slices)

Seasoning:
2 Tablespoon of Dark soya sauce
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1 tablespoon of sambal chilli paste

Method:

  1. Cook all the ingredients in boiling water
  2. Drain out water and mix well with the seasoning and serve hot.

Below is a dish which I like it the most, and so do my luv(= I originally adpated the recipe from the recipe book which is compiled by my secondary school home economics teacher but I gt made some changes..

Chicken Stew~(serves 2)

Ingredients needed:
100g chicken breastmeat(cut into cudes)
2 tablespoon of peas
2 small potato(cut into quartered)
1/2 carrot - cut into 1 cm thick
1/2 onion - cut into slices
200ml of water

For coating chicken:
2 tablespoon of cornflour
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Pepper to taste


Seasoning:
2 tablespoon dark soya sauce

Method:

  1. Coat the chicken with all the ingredient needed to coat chicken.
  2. Heat oil and add in onion. Stir fry till slightly brown.
  3. Add in chicken cudes and stir fry till slightly brown as well.
  4. Add in carrot, potato, water and dark soya sauce. Simmer till carrot and potato are soften.
  5. Add in peas and simmer for about 3 minutes before serving.

Potato salad(serves 2)

this recipe is created by my own, is veri simple way of preparing.. Hope u guys also feel the same too (=


Ingredients:
5 Baby lettuce leaves
2 Potatoes - cut into cudes and boiled till soften
1 small can of green peas
Half carrot - cut into cudes and boiled
Bacon Bits as garnish
2 table spoon of Mayonnaise

Method:
  1. Mix all the cooked ingredients together with Mayonnaise in a bowl.
  2. Place the lettuce leaves as shown in the above picture.
  3. Serve with bacon bits as topping.

Steamed fish(serves 4)


Ingredients:
2 medium size Pomfret fish(slit cut on each side of the fish)
1 small ginger - cut into thin strips
1 dried mushroom (soaked and cut into thin strips)
1 stalk of Celery - cut into 1 cm long

Seasoning:
1 table spoon of the each following:
light soya sauce, sesame oil and chilli black bean sauce.

Method:
  1. Rub the fishes with salt.
  2. Put the fish in a deep plate and arrange the cut ingredients except celery on top of them.
  3. Mix all the seasoning and add in some water.
  4. Pour the sauce over the fish.
  5. Heat water in a steamer and steam for 20 mins.
  6. Garnish with celery and serve hot.

Noodle cooking in free style


Ingredients:
1 cup of bean sprout
1 packet of instant noodle
1 slice of ham (cut into thin strips)
1 stalk of spring onion (Cut into 1 cm long)
Seasoning:
1 tablespoon of dark black sweet sauce
1 teaspoon sambal paste

Method:
  1. Blend beansprout & ham in boiling water.
  2. Dish out and cook the noodle.
  3. Drain out the water and left some water to use it to mix well with seasoning.
  4. Garnish with spring onion and serve hot.

Oh no I din realize tat I have nt been updating my food blog.. =.="' so here I am to present u another classic recipes~

Pork Porridge with century egg

Ingredients:
1 Small ginger(cut into small thin slices)
1 Century Egg(cut into small pieces)
1/2 Cup of Rice(soak over night & washed)
Some Lean pork (cut into 0.5 cm thick slices) & Minced meat - Marinate them with 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce; 1 small teaspoon of sesame oil & some pepper
2 stalk of Chopped Spring Onion

Seasoning:
2 Tablespoon of Light Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
Dash of pepper to taste

Method:
  1. Cook rice in a pot of water.
  2. Cook till the rice is slightly mushy and then add in lean meat.
  3. Simmer and cook for around 5 min.
  4. Add in minced meat and ginger & soy sauce and keep on stiring till the porridge is mushy and watery enough.
  5. Add in Century Egg.
  6. Serve hot and add in sesame oil & pepper. Garnish with spring onion.
