Ketchup Tofu Minced Meat

I again pass by Cuisine Paradise on one of her wordless post and saw this recipe.. Was so tempted to give this dish a try.. I match this dish with some plain congee..


Serves 2


Ingredients:
1 tube of egg tofu
Some minced meat
1 teaspoon of minced garlic

Marinate ingredients for minced meat
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
1 tablespoon of corn flour
2 tablespoon of light soya sauce
1 tablespoon of rice wine

Seasoning sauce
1/2 tablespoon of tomato sauce
1/2 tablespoon of chilli sauce
1/4 teaspoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of dark soya sauce
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
1 teaspoon of rice wine
100ml of hot water

Method
  1. Marinate minced with all the marinate ingredients and mix well. Keep into the fridge just before the day of cooking. 
  2. Cut the tofu into 1cm thick and coat lightly with some cornflour
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry tofu till both side is slightly brown. Dish out and set aside. Drain off the excess oil by using kitchen towel.
  4. Mix tomato and chilli sauce together with the rest of the ingredients for the seasoning sauce till combined.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of oilto the pan and satute minced garlic till fragant. Add in minced meat and continue to fry for another 2 min or until meat is throughly cooked.
  6. Pour in the seasoning sauce and add in fried tofu. Stir fry a few times and let it cook till sauce slightly thicken. 
Tip: to make this dish more appetizing, you may add in some chopped spring onion.
